Luers Grad Knapke To Start At QB For Bowling Green

James Knapke Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WANE) – Bishop Luers graduate James Knapke will start at quarterback this week for Bowling Green as the Falcons prepare to take on VMI.
Matt Johnson, who led the Falcons to a MAC title last year, was injured in BGSU’s season opener against Western Kentucky last week. He will miss the rest of the season with a hip injury.
Knapke, a redshirt sophomore, left Luers as the SAC’s all-time leading passer. He led Luers to three consecutive 2A state titles.
Coming off the bench last season Knapke was 4-fo-10 passing for 71 yards and a touchdown at BGSU.
