MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — A new documentary that explores the lives of five brothers whose glass-making empire helped turn Muncie into an industrial powerhouse will premiere this month in the central Indiana city.

The film was produced by Ball State University students as part of an immersive learning project and explores the lives of the five Ball brothers. The brothers moved their glass-making business, Ball Corp., from Buffalo, New York, to Muncie in the 1880s.

“A Legacy Etched in Glass: The Ball Brothers in Muncie” will premiere Sept. 25 at Muncie’s Minnetrista center.

The film explores the lives of all five Ball brothers, their wives and other relatives. It also examines the wide-ranging philanthropic efforts of the family in Muncie over the past 120 years.
