Inside The Zone – 9/1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – NHC and ACAC conference play kicks off this Friday as week three of the prep season is upon us.
In the NHC East Noble is looking to bounce back after a 25-24 loss at Warsaw as the Knights travel to Homestead this week. Homestead is 2-0 and has outscored opponents 88-18 so far this season. The Spartans have won eight of the last nine meeting with East Noble, including last year’s 17-14 win in Kendallville. Other big NHC games include Carroll (2-0) at Norwell (1-1) and New Haven (2-0) at DeKalb (2-0).
In NECC action Garrett travels to Churubusco in a key conference battle. The Railroaders are coming off a 26-20 loss to county rival DeKalb, while Busco fell at Lewis Cass last week by a score of 16-7.
In SAC play North Side travels to Zollner Stadium to face Bishop Dwenger. The Redskins beat 3A no. 8 Delta last week 49-26 behind four touchdowns from Keyshawn Watson. Meanwhile, Dwenger has outscored opponents 96-19 this year. Recent history is on North Side’s side, as the Redskins have won two of the last three against the Saints, including a 32-28 victory at Chambers Field that propelled the Redskins to an SAC title for the first time in 25 years.
Other big games on the board include Concordia at Wayne and Heritage at Woodlan.
