Indiana State Troopers accepting applications

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WANE) Indiana State Police is accepting applications for the 75th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy through November 30, 2014.

According to the Indiana State Police’s website, Indiana State Trooper selection is a lengthy process and can take about seven months to complete. Trooper duties include patrolling county, state and federal roads, conducting criminal investigations and controlling traffic at disaster scenes.

When the department first started in 1933, there were 16 officers. However, the department has grown to having more than 1,300 personal.
