IU’s Memorial Stadium evacuated

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Lightning prompted the evacuation of IU’s Memorial Stadium on Saturday and pushed back kickoff time.

Indiana University’s athletics Twitter account announced the evacuation, asking people to seek shelter.

IU’s football team takes on Indiana State University on Saturday to kick off the season. The game was scheduled for noon, and the evacuation happened about 15 minutes before then. Fans were allowed back to their seats at 12:10 p.m. and the game’s start time was moved to 12:50 p.m.
