NHC Week 2 Recap

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – DeKalb topped rival Garrett 26-20 to headline a big night of football for the NHC.
Will Chrisman’s two receiving touchdowns from Harrison Price in the fourth quarter keyed DeKalb’s win, as the Barons topped the Railroaders for the second time in three year.
At Dean Gorsuch Field it was an unexpected defensive battle, but Carroll topped Huntington North 10-0. The game was tied 3-0 at the half with Carroll’s Chase Blotkamp scoring the game’s only touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
The Eel River Rivalry trophy belongs to Columbia City for the fifth year in a row as the Eagles beat Whitko 43-20. Trevor Bolt threw for 140 yards and four touchdown passes for Columbia City, while Carson Reed rushed for 126 yards and a score.
East Noble led Warsaw 17-0 in the first quarter, but couldn’t hold the lead as Warsaw came back to win 25-24. The Knights were led by Dillon Fuller with 102 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
In Berne it was Bellmont over South Adams 44-6. Sebastian Siefring rushed for a 108 yards and a touchdown while Mason Shinaberry rushed for two scores and threw for another.
At the Courtyard Norwell fell to Heritage 31-21 while all-state quarterback Piercen Harnish was held out the second half with an injury.
New Haven moved to 2-0 on the season as the 4A no. 6 Bulldogs topped Lakeland 48-8. Nishawn Jones set the tone early with two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter.
