8/29 Highlight Zone – Week Two

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – There were three blowouts in SAC play while DeKalb upset Garrett to headline a number of county rivalries in week two of the prep football season.
In the Highlight Zone “Game of the Week” Bishop Dwenger won Zollner Stadium bragging rights by topping Concordia 44-13. 5A no. 2 Snider moved to 2-0 with a 49-0 win at South Side while Bishop Luers handled Northrop 58-7. Meanwhile, Wayne earned another road win, topping Kokomo 53-47 with North Side handled 3A no. 8 Delta 49-26.
Carroll won a low-scoring game at home against Huntington North by a final of 10-0, while 4A no. 8 East Noble couldn’t hang on to an early lead and fell at Warsaw 25-24. Norwell quarterback Piercen Harnish was knocked out of the game with an injury as Heritage came back to beat the Knights 31-21 behind a strong performance from quarterback Branson Dossen. New Haven used a strong ground game to run past Lakeland 48-8.
In one of the biggest surprises of the night DeKalb topped Garrett 26-20 behind two big fourth quarter touchdowns from Harrison Price to Will Chrisman. Bellmont earned county bragging rights with a 44-6 win at South Adams, while the Eel River Rivalry trophy resides at Columbia City for the fifth year in a row as the Eagles bested Whitko 43-20.
In other action Kray Klopfenstein threw four touchdown passes as Leo won at Angola 38-0 while Eastside won at Adams Central 26-7.
