U.S. 24 back open after crash near I-469

Semi v Pickup U.S. 24 Crash

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – Both westbound lanes on U.S. 24 are back open at Bruick Road after a two-vehicle crash.

Police said around 6:00 a.m., a pickup truck driving west hit a semi that was parked on the shoulder, just east of the I-469 interchange.

The pickup truck flipped onto its roof and caught fire in the middle of the road.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The semi driver was not injured.

Westbound lanes were closed for more than an hour, but one lane has since reopened.

The crash is under investigation.
