Elmo and Grover visit kids at Lutheran Hospital

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Elmo, Grover, and the entire Sesame Street gang are in Fort Wayne this week for the Sesame Street Live show at the Memorial Coliseum. On Wednesday, two of the characters visited kids at Lutheran Children’s Hospital.

The young patients were all smiles during the visit. Parents say it’s a welcome diversion while their children are hospitalized.

“It’s just absolutely wonderful to see them smiling. It’s the first time that you get to see them being kids, which is what it’s all about. And so to take away the hospital pokes and nasty stuff and make it all fun is just a great opportunity for us.” said Lutheran Child Life Specialist Tammy Else.

The remaining Sesame Street Live show is Thursday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. Tickets range from $28 to $80.
