Taste of the Arts brings food and culture to downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Live music, food and a day of bringing the community together through art is what community festival, Taste of the Arts, is all about. The city is showcasing dozens of artists in downtown Fort Wayne for free.

“This is such a great community-building opportunity,” President of Arts United, Susan Mendenhall said. “We have many arts and cultural organizations here representing the very best of what Fort Wayne has to offer throughout the year.”

The one-day festival takes place around Arts United Plaza.

Seventy theatre, music and dance performers are participating in the festival at ten different stages. There are over 30 restaurants at the festival including Shigs in Pit, Friendly Fox and Main Street Bistro.

Mendenhall estimated between 25,000 and 30,000 people will attend this year’s fest. The event is free and ends at 10 Saturday evening.
