FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Kids will soon have a new place to play at Jefferson Pointe shopping center in Fort Wayne. It’s made up of 14 elements based on the history of the city, and leaders say it’s the largest retail indoor play area in the state.

The grand opening will be Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. It’s located next to Barnes and Noble, directly across from Gymboree.
“We are excited to offer the community a play area for children to have fun, exercise, and help develop motor skills,” said Jefferson Pointe Marketing Manager Katrina Newman. “Games and puzzles are mounted on the walls to encourage learning, problem solving, and hand-eye coordination.”
Children can crawl through, climb over, or slide down the soft play structures, which are coated in an anti-bacterial finish. A 16 feet tall cherry blossom tree is in the center of the area and symbolizes Fort Wayne’s connection with its sister city of Takaoka, Japan. The play area also features Johnny Appleseed, a mini version of the Old Fort, a colonial-era drum, an F22 Fighter Jet, and more.
