FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) As the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge grows in popularity, many people from Fort Wayne have accepted the challenge and are raising awareness for the disease that nearly 30,000 Americans have.

CEO of Fort Financial Credit Union Steve Collins was drenched with cold water Wednesday, after the company raised more than $1,000 in a pledge drive.

The eighth grade class at Concordia Lutheran Elementary School also participated in the challenge. The principal of Concordia Lutheran Elementary school, Michael Rosin, was nominated by his son and then challenged the 8th grade students at the school. The students accepted and then nominated other schools.
