IU’s Cornett Arrested, Suspended From Team

Caleb Cornett

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Sophomore receiver Caleb Cornett has been suspended from the I.U. football team following an arrested early Wednesday morning for battery and disorderly conduct.
Cornett was arrested at 3 a.m. after being a part of a fight on Kirkwood Avenue in downtown Bloomington.
However, police say Cornett will not face charges because the incident was a “mutual combat scenario.” The other individual involved was taken to a Bloomington hospital.
Cornett has been suspended from all of Indiana’s team activities.
Cornett was also arrested last December for reckless driving at OWI.
Last year as a redshirt freshman Cornett played in 11 games for the Hoosiers. A Ben Davis high school graduate, he was expected to challenge for more playing time this year with the departure of a number of I.U.’s top receivers.
