Driver killed in I-69 crash identified

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  Investigators are unsure what caused the driver of an SUV to leave the roadway while driving south on I-69 just north of the US 6 interchange just before 3 a.m. on Wednesday  in DeKalb County.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Ihtsham Waseen was driving an SUV and left the east side of the road at the 337 mile marker. Police said he then over corrected and crossed back over the west side of the interstate where the SUV slid, struck an embankment and then overturned. Waseen was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
