Council approves more than $3 million for fuel, salt

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- The Fort Wayne City Council engaged in some big spending Tuesday night.

The members started the meeting by okaying a bill worth $2.3 million. The measure will allow city vehicles to keep filling up their gas tanks at local Lassus Handy Dandy stations through 2015.

Also, the city’s salt barn will be getting a large delivery soon. The council is spending $945,000 to resupply the street department with salt for the upcoming winter.

The council voted to approve both measures unanimously.
