Indy police locates child abducted by father

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department located a missing nine-month-old safely on Saturday afternoon.

IMPD says DeAndre Averitte abducted his child Kristian Averitte on Saturday around 5:30 a.m. The child was taken from the 3500 block of Star Magnolia Place.

DeAndre Averitte is the non-custodial father for the child.

According to a release police say the man battered the child’s mother and then took off with the child in a 2004 Chevy Malibu.

The child was located safely just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday. However, the suspect has not been located.

Anyone with information of DeAndre Averitee whereabouts should call 911.
