ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was found dead after a crash on U.S. 30 Wednesday. The coroner identified the man as Gregory S. Schulz, 43, of White Cloud, Michigan.

The coroner said the preliminary autopsy findings did not show significant injuries from the crash. Once the autopsy is complete the coroner will be able to determine the cause and manner of death.

Schulz died after a semi accident on U.S. 30 near Snyder Road on Wednesday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department confirmed.

The accident happened around 4:15 p.m. The semi was driving west on U.S. 30 when Schulz left the north side of the road and turned over in a bean field, according to police. Investigators don’t know why the semi went off the road. The semi, which was carrying roofing material, is the only vehicle involved in the crash.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office said Schulz was pronounced dead at the scene.

No skid marks were visible on the road near the overturned semi, according to a NewsChannel 15 crew that was at the scene.

Both westbound lanes of U.S. 30 at State Road 101 were closed until around 9 p.m. as crews worked to clean up the scene of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Police Department and the Allen county Coroner’s Office.
