Heiney Takes Over Prairie Heights In 2014

LAGRANGE, Ind. (WANE) – After working as an assistant under coach Vince Royer the Prairie Heights football program will have a new head coach this season in Eric Heiney.
Heiney takes over a team that went 5-6 last fall, but hasn’t had a winning season in 24 years.
Quarterback/linebacker Jake Heller and running back/linebacker Cassten Everidge are expected to play major roles this season, as is David Rodriguez.
The Panthers will look a lot different in 2014, as 15 two-way players graduated. Heiney notes that replacing players like running back Bobby Blum, quarterback Kyler West, and WR/DB Kade Gerbers will be tough, but expects his senior class to lead the way in 2014.
The Panthers open the season August 22 at Garrett.
