SYRACUSE, Ind. (WANE)  Officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) cited 13 minors for underage drinking this past Saturday at the Lake Wawasee sandbar as part of what’s called a Targeted Enforcement Detail.

DNR officers used various kinds of watercraft to monitor the sandbar after getting complaints from the public about illegal activity taking place on Lake Wawasee.

Besides the underage drinking citations, officers also issued two citations for boating violations.

The DNR encourages people who suspect or see illegal activities taking place on Indiana lakes, rivers and reservoirs to call the Indiana Conservation Officers dispatch center at 812-837-9536.
