FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  After a fire destroyed the blacksmith shop at the Old Fort this summer, the Fort Wayne landmark is being rebuilt. Historic Fort Wayne said the new blacksmith shop will be larger and hold more stations.

A fire destroyed the building in May but the cause of the fire is still undetermined. This summer, a cannon was stolen from the Fort that has yet to be returned. Since both incidents, the Fort has installed updated smoke detectors and security systems.

The construction of the building started in early August and is expected to be done sometime within the month.
