Investigators identified the man as Kevin L. Walda, 27. Walda was identified as the driver of the minivan when it crashed. Police said the accident on July 20 happened at 8:45 p.m. when the minivan was speeding down Runnion Avenue and lost control. According to police, the vehicle began to roll, hit a utility pole and then a tree before landing at the intersection of Runnion Avenue and Howell Street.

The coroner ruled Walda’s death an accident and said alcohol was a factor.
