Thousands coming to Fort Wayne for soccer festival

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – More than 40 high school and college soccer teams from Indiana and surrounding states will compete during the Shindigz National Soccer Festival.

Some of the college mens teams include Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana University, IPFW and St. Francis.

The womens teams from Trine, Indiana Tech and Taylor University will also be competing.

Boys and girls teams from 39 Indiana and Michigan high schools will be playing.

New this year will be a youth soccer coaches game, a chance to win a new car, dodge ball and sumo soccer.

Tickets cost $5 for students and $7 for adults. They can be purchased at Walgreens and Connelly’s DoitBest locations.

The festival starts on Thursday, August 21 and ends Saturday, August 23.

The festival has been going on for 15 years.
