Police: Daughter stabbed mother in chest

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing that happened Sunday afternoon in Leesburg.

Officers were called to 4418 North Sullivan Road at around 1 p.m. North Webster Deputy Marshal Dave May arrived at the scene and found Ada Dill, 60, suffering from a puncture wound to her chest.

Police said Dill’s daughter, Stephanie Nelson, 28, is suspected of stabbing her mother. The initial investigation found that Nelson and her mom were talking in the kitchen when Nelson suddenly got out a knife and stabbed Dill once in the chest.

North Webster/Tippecanoe Township E.M.S. took Dill to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne in serious condition.

Nelson was taken to the Kosciusko Community Hospital for evaluation.  The incident is still under investigation and will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
