Knights Need Big Season From Harnish

OSSIAN, IN. (WANE) – When the ball snaps in Ossian this fall all eyes will once again be on Piercen Harnish. In 2013 the Norwell quarterback earned all-state honors after wracking up 2,700 total yards of offense and 32 total touchdowns. There’s no question the Knights will go as their star senior goes, but for the first time in several years, Norwell has the depth and experience to back up the star power.

Jeff Miller’s team returns starters at 17 positions and enters the fall having won six of it’s final seven games to reach a second straight sectional championship game. Harnish will have his pick of weapons to distribute the ball to. Reggie Hayes and Nathan Burrows return at wide receiver, as does star tight end Jeremy Davis. The line will be just as experienced with all-conference guard Andrew Oakes back, flanked by Curtis Blackwell at tackle and center Delvin Helmke.

Defensively, arguably the biggest impact player will also be Harnish. As a junior, Harnish lead the team in tackles lining up as a linebacker. Juniors Hunter Ingle and Trevor Eichler also figure to be impact players for the Knights.

Norwell opens the regular season on the road against Leo.
