Fort Wayne man killed in Noble Co. accident

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  A Fort Wayne man is dead after police said he failed to stop at a stop sign with flashing red lights at an intersection near Albion Sunday.

According to the press release from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, Balvinder Singh, 57, was headed north in a Toyota on State Road 9 and went thought the intersection at US 6 into the path of an International box truck.

Police said the force of the crash pushed the vehicles east of the intersection and caused the box truck to roll over onto its passenger side.

Authorities pronounced Singh dead at the scene. The driver of the box truck did not suffer any injuries. However, a passenger of the box truck was taken to a hospital because of a minor head injury.

The Indiana State Police is assisting with a reconstruction of the accident.
