Regional job fair hopes to fill 3,000 positions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Congressman Marlin Stutzman and Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) are partnering together for a regional job fair. Seventy employers with more than 3,000 jobs to fill will be on hand to meet with people seeking a job.

The job fair will be held August 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Classic Ballroom. IPFW said it saw a 40% increase over last year’s numbers of employers and three times the number of jobs that companies were offering. Some of the employers at the fair include Steel Dynamics, Verizon Wireless, Lutheran and Parkview hospitals, as well as the City of Fort Wayne.
