KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A man was arrested after police said he broke into a funeral home and tried to steal children’s DVDs.

According to the release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Austin James Grindle, 19, of Warsaw was making a scene at Katies’ Kwik Mart convenience store in Leesburg at about 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Employees called police to report the unusual behavior of Grindle.

Grindle left the convenience store but deputies found his yellow motorcycle at about 7 a.m. outside the Mishler Funeral Home in Milford. Police took Grindle into custody when they saw him coming out of a broken window at the back of the funeral home.

After being let into the building, officers determined that Grindle had been trying to steal children’s DVDs.

Grindle’s erratic behavior led deputies to get a warrant for a blood draw to test for alcohol and drugs. The results from those tests are pending.

Grindle faces a charge of felony burglary of a business with intent. As of Wednesday morning, he was being held without bond at the Kosciusko County Jail.
