Franke Says ECHL/CHL Merger Rumor Not Valid

Komets win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Komets team president and ECHL executive board member Michael Franke says he hasn’t heard any valid indication that the ECHL and CHL are planning to merge any time in the near future.
Franke spoke with WANE-TV by phone on Wednesday night, addressing a rumor regarding a possible ECHL/CHL merger. The rumor began circulating Tuesday night on social media when a hockey agent posted on his Twitter account that the leagues would be merging.
The Komets left the CHL for the ECHL in May of 2012.
