Consistent Play Carries Walters To City Tournament Win

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Aaron Walters didn’t have the lowest round of the weekend at the Men’s City Golf Tournament. In fact, he only broke par once. But in a tournament that was defined by wildly inconsistent play, Walters was one of the few constants. His final round of even par was enough to survive a wild last day of competition at Chestnut Hills, as Walters -2 delivered the championship.

Sean Ferguson finished one stroke back in a tie for second with Mitch Rutledge. Rutledge entered the day in a tie for first with Callahan Elzey, but shot a four-over 76, including double-bogeys on five and sixteen.

Defending champion Patrick Kelley finished in a tie for fourth with Johnny Strawser at even par. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
