Golfers anything but JERKs at annual tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- The JERK League hosted its 5th annual charity golf outing Saturday at Colonial Oaks Golf Course. This year’s event raised money for Turnstone.

More than 30 teams participated in the outing. The group chose Turnstone as its charity in memory of Fort Wayne Komets hall-of-famer and JERK League founding father Reggie Primeau. Last year the JERK League donated more than $5,000 to Turnstone.

The JERK League was formed by four men six years ago as a once-a-week golf group. The men took the first letters of their first names and called their group “JRRC.” When the group expanded to include 12 new members the next year, the men changed the name to the JERK League.

The JERKs share a love of golf and community and hold a charity golf tournament every year. The group has raised more than $13,000 for local charities.
