KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – The Indiana Department of Natural resources is investigating a possible drowning, according to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department dispatch.
Dispatchers said the initial call was for a drowning at Silver Lake. It came in around 6:20 p.m. Saturday. The dispatcher said a body was recovered, but she couldn’t release more details about what happened.
WSBT-TV reports the initial call was for a woman who went under water at Silver Lake and didn’t resurface. The DNR confirmed her body was found by using sonar technology as of 9:05 p.m. Divers found her within four minutes. Her body was found in 22 feet of water, according to WSBT.
It’s not clear why the woman went under water. The coroner will release the cause of death after an autopsy. The victim’s name hasn’t been released yet.
