Man found unconscious, bleeding in strip club parking lot

Police on the scene of Showgirl I early Thursday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police are trying to figure out what happened to a man found unresponsive in the parking lot of a strip club early Thursday morning.

Fort Wayne Police were called to Showgirl I on Goshen Road around 3:15 a.m. after someone found the man lying in the parking lot. Police said he had injuries to his face and he wasn’t responsive.

A bartender working at Showgirl I said that the victim had entered the strip club around 2:45 a.m. and did not order or drink anything before the business closed 15 minutes later, at 3 a.m. The bartender said the victim was coherent and did not appear to be drunk.

A few minutes after closing, the bartender and a few other employees were told by patrons leaving the business that there was a man lying in the parking lot bleeding.

The employees told police there didn’t seem to be any witnesses who could tell them what happened as the parking lot was largely empty at the time of the apparent battery. An employee also said there were no security cameras facing the front of the building.

The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition. His identity has not been released, but the police report states that he had a Florida driver’s license.

Investigators are interviewing people as they try to determine what happened.
