Snider safety Bates chooses University of Toledo

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Snider High School senior free safety has decided to play college football at the University of Toledo.  Bates selected the Rockets over in-state school Ball State.

Bates led the Panthers in interceptions in 2013 with six on the year.

Bates told NewsChannel 15 he selected Toledo because it was close to home and the school offered his major, physical therapy.

Bates said he was glad to get his commitment in early so he could focus his senior season on helping the Panthers secure another sectional championship, and hoped to advance far in the upcoming state tournament.
