FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police said a driver failed to negotiate a turn at Scott Avenue and Broadway and nearly crashed into a house.
Police were called shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday and found the car propped onto landscaping stones. The car came to a stop just feet from a house.
FWPD said when they approached the vehicle the driver resisted an officer. The officer was able to take the driver down and place him in custody.
The driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
It’s unclear what charges, if any, the driver might face.
Police said alcohol is a likely factor in the crash.
A small fire broke out in the vehicle and was extinguished by police and firefighters.
Landscaping stones and flowers were damaged in the crash, but the house escaped damage.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under investigation.
