Police found a husband and wife dead in this Carmel, Ind. home on Sunday.

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – Carmel police are investigating a husband and wife found dead in a home on Sunday as a possible murder-suicide.

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 4600 block of Somerset Way South shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Major Lee Goodman from the Carmel Police Department confirmed that the two victims were found dead at the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, the husband, David Hall, 38, shot his wife, Shannon Hall, 40, then shot himself.

Goodman said the couple’s two children, ages 8 and 10, were in the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not hurt. Police said Shannon’s parents were in the home as well but weren’t hurt.

“It’s tragic that anytime a domestic situation has to come to this type of a conclusion. It’s unneeded. There are other avenues for people with counseling, and it’s just unfortunate they have to come to this,” said Goodman.

The number of shots fired and where the victims were shot was not immediately released. Carmel Police will continue to investigate the shooting.
