Motorcyclist critical after crash in downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A motorcyclist is in critical condition after an accident in downtown Fort Wayne on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at the intersection of W. Jefferson Boulevard and Van Buren Street just after 3 p.m. Fort Wayne police confirmed that the motorcyclist was in critical condition; he was not wearing a helmet. No one else was injured.

According to police, the car was driving south on Van Buren and made a left-hand turn onto W. Jefferson, into the path of the motorcyclist, who was driving north on Van Buren.

W. Jefferson was closed between Van Buren and Jackson for more than two hours after the crash. Everything was back open and the scene was cleared around 5:40 p.m.
