ANDERSON, IN. (WANE) – According to multiple reports – Colts running back Vick Ballard has suffered a torn Achilles and is likely done for the season. An impending MRI is expected to confirm the news. The third-year running back suffered the injury during a non-contact drill at practice on Friday afternoon. He was carted off the field and did not return.
Ballard missed all but one game during the 2013 season after suffering a torn ACL during practice prior to the Colts second game of the season.
He showed great promise as a rookie in 2012, rushing for 814 yards and two touchdowns on 211 carries.
This injury leaves Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw as the Colts top options in the backfield. Richardson was held out of practice Friday as a precautionary move.
