SCAN to celebrate 40 years with cheese themed event

It’s called “Cheese and Quackers” a fitting name and theme for an event hosted by the nonprofit that maintains a positive, fun outlook as it works with serious family problems.  SCAN or Stop Child Abuse and Neglect is celebrating a milestone of 40 years of working to eliminate abuse and neglect in the community and over 25 years as the organization behind the annual Duck Race on the St. Joseph river.

The Cheese and Quackers event on Thursday, August 7, will include cheese-themed food, craft beer and wine tastings, live music from a local band and cinematic cheese with a presentation of “The Princess Bride.”  Tickets are $35 per person, and a limited number are available.  It will take place at the Foellinger Outdoor Theatre at Franke Park.  This event is for guests age 21 and over.  To reserve a ticket, visit this website.  Reservations will be accepted through August 5 or until capacity is filled.

Funds raised from the Cheese and Quackers event will benefit the mission of SCAN Fort Wayne.
