Train ran over boy’s leg

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are investigating how a boy was hit by a train Sunday evening.

Emergency responders were called to 3116 McDonald Street just after 5:15 p.m. The railroad tracks run behind that address.

Police at the scene told NewsChannel 15 that a 10-year-old boy’s leg was run over by the train. The officer said investigators think the boy might have tried to jump on the train but was unsuccessful.

The boy was taken to a hospital where he was last listed in serious condition.
