Police said it happened around 8:45 p.m. They said the three victims were taken to a local hospital. Two are in critical condition and one person is in serious condition.

Police said a minivan was speeding down Runnion and lost control.  The minivan then lost control around the railroad tracks just north of Wheeler Street. According to police, the vehicle began to roll, hit a utility pole and then a tree before landing at the intersection of Runnion Avenue and Howell Street.

NewsChannel 15’s crew at the scene said the pole was lying on the street in pieces.

Police said one of the men was thrown out of the van. The two other men were pinned in the van and firefighters had to extricate them. .
