INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A woman is dead after police said her husband beat her on Sunday morning.

Police were called to a home in the 5700 block of Laurel Hall Drive in Indianapolis at 7:30 a.m.

There were six adults and three children inside the home at the time. One of the older children told police that they heard a strange noise coming from their parent’s bedroom.

The child went to the room and found his mother had been beaten to death. The father and son then got into a physical argument.

The son suffered some stab wounds, but was treated at the scene.

Police arrested the husband on Devington Road and Arlington Avenue in northern Indianapolis.

It was unclear what lead to the beating.
