Bike swap raises funds for area trails

Bike Swap 3

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Bike enthusiasts from across the area spent Sunday afternoon at a swap meet in Franke Park. Organizers said it’s like a garage sale for bicycle parts.

Prices range anywhere from ten dollars to several hundred dollars, depending on the bike. Money raised in Sunday’s swap go towards Bike Swap 1creating more trails in the area.

“In Northeast Indiana, we don’t have good, sustainable trails to ride in the woods. Anytime we want to go, we have to drive a couple of hours to get to Brown County or up into Michigan so we’re just interested in creating more trails here,” NITRO President, Diana DeCarranza said.
