County Fair adding fireworks, parade to events

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The 25th annual Allen County Fair has new activities this year to its festival lineup.

The new features include a fireworks show, Fair Fun Parade, mud bog and dirt drags and more midway rides. The fair will also have returning events such as the demolition derby, air rifle shooting range and truck pull.

Young area girls will compete Sunday, June 20 at Carroll High School in the Miss Allen County Queen Pageant. Girls ages 16 to 21 have a chance to become Miss Allen County 2014 and move on to the Miss Indiana State Fair Queen.

Miss Allen County 2013, Morgen Figel, and Allen County Fair representative, Michelle Love, talked with NewsChannel 15 about the pageant and the other activities during the week long festival.

The fair is July 22-27 at 2726 Carroll Road on the Allen County Fairgrounds.
