INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – People from across the state are downtown again this weekend for the Indiana Black Expo’s Summer Celebration. One of the biggest events is the Black and Minority Health Fair.

Over the years the fair has helped tens of thousands of Hoosiers identify health issues and get the help they need.

Saturday, Loretta Taylor was among the hundreds of expo attendees taking advantage of more than $1,000 in free health screenings.

“I have not had any screenings recently so I thought it would be a great opportunity to get that done,” she said.

“You’re getting over a thousand dollars worth of free healthcare screenings,” said fair organizer Antoinette Holt. “And so all these different tests that if you’ve been to the doctor and you see that bill that you have to pay – it’s free today.”

Our partners at WISH-TV are a sponsor of the health fair.
