FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The man accused of driving drunk, hitting and killing a Bishop Dwenger student will have more time to prepare for his pre-trial. An Allen County Superior Court Judge has rescheduled the pre-trial conference hearing for Jeremy Washington for November 7.
The defense asked for more time to go over evidence, talk to witnesses and gather experts. According to the attorney for Washington, the defense has made discoveries in the case, even as late as yesterday.
Washington faces 11 felony counts, including murder. In late March, police said Washington sped away from a shooting at The Corner Pocket, a bar in Fort Wayne. Police said Washington ran a red light and killed a 17-year-old student, Haley Nellum.
Jeremy Washington’s trial has also been rescheduled and will now take place sometime between the weeks of March 9-20, of 2015.
