FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A two day free event at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne for children starts this weekend. Three Rivers Festival Children’s Fest will have amusement rides, a character parade, live entertainment, hands-on activities, educational displays, games, and prizes for family friendly event.
New this year is the event’s first Lego League tournament. Various math and science departments as well as athletic camps have put teams together for this Computer Science Outreach program.
Last year, over 20,000 kids, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas came out for the 2-day event to enjoy the fun provided at over 50 booths.
IPFW and Parkview Health also announced the winner of the Find the Triangle Contest at 11 a.m. Friday. The contest was an exploration of the IPFW’s Sculpture with Purpose bike racks. Participants submitted photos of themselves visiting the Sculpture with Purpose installations in downtown Fort Wayne, on the IPFW campus, and elsewhere in the city and pointing at the hidden triangle on each sculpture.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 2101 East Coliseum Blvd.
Ronald McDonald will make a guest appearance at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Parking for the event is free in the university’s parking garages.
