Henry visits southwest businesses

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- Mayor Tom Henry and his staff spent part of his afternoon on the city’s southwest side visiting businesses in Covington Plaza.

It was one of a number of business and neighborhood walks the mayor is planning this year.

Henry said his goal is to listen to the needs and wants of local business owners, and to then connect them with the people who can help.

“We try to make them aware of the facade grants we have and business loans that we have and access to state and federal programs,” said Henry. “Many of [the businesses] aren’t aware of everything that’s available to them, so [today’s walk has] been very, very good.”

Henry has two more business walks scheduled for this year. One will be downtown and the other will be at Northwood Plaza off Stellhorn Road.
