TRF favorite zooms through downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – More than 100 people sprinted through a block of downtown Fort Wayne while pushing a bed Wednesday night for the annual Three Rivers Festival bed races.

The races started at 6 p.m. on Main Street between Clinton Street and Lafayette Street. 22 teams of five signed up to compete for bragging rights and cash prizes.

In the end, the fastest team was DeBrand Fine Chocolates. The team won $500 for taking first place.

People were also able to vote for their favorite bed for a dollar per vote. All the money raised by the voting will go to the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank. provides commenting on many stories to allow for constructive discussion.
