Pedal City plans beer garden downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  The company known for “beer bikes” in downtown Fort Wayne is planning to add a spot for people to enjoy beer off the bikes. Pedal City is opening a beer garden at its launching location. The owner of the business said it reminds people of a backyard barbecue.Pedal city3

Once complete, the garden will have several activities for people to participate in, such as ping-pong and corn hole. The space will be open to the public. Pedal City owner Julie Ford said her hope is that people biking on the River Greenway would find the beer garden a good stopping point to meet. They currently have a concession trailer and are working on completing a menu for the garden.

Along with being able to add the launching center and beer garden, Ford said they plan on brewing their own beer. Pedal City will eventually add a small brewery and bar in the building, but for right now Ford said they are working on getting an alcohol license.
