City’s pools pass audit with flying colors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne’s city pools were a part of a random audit an were found to be in excellent operational condition.

Memorial, McMillen and Northside pools were evaluated based on lifeguards observing swimmers, lifeguards’ skills, and facility equipment. In all three areas, the audit performed by Ellis & Associates International Aquatic Safety & Risk Management determined the city’s pools meet standards for aquatic safety and risk management operations.

The unannounced audit found when lifeguards are observing swimmers, the pools performed above standards. When individual and team skills were observed, the audit found that the pools met or exceeded standards. The audit also found that facility items were well organized and met standards.
